The customer success story of A-to-Be

A-to-Be is a technology company belonging to the Brisa Group, responsible for developing and implementing mobility solutions (such as tolling systems) for public and private entities in Europe and the USA. They are an international reference in the research, installation, and maintenance of critical Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).

Initial situation of the customer

Despite their high-tech output, the management of their US-based operations—specifically the maintenance of tolling infrastructures—relied heavily on manual processes. The teams were using Excel spreadsheets to track equipment stocks across the United States, which made it nearly impossible to have a real-time view of asset location, condition, or useful life history.

The challenge

The complexity of managing dispersed infrastructure created three main challenges:

1. Asset Lifecycle Tracking: They needed to move beyond simple "stock counts" to tracking the full history (MTBF, maintenance logs, installation dates) of every asset installed at client sites.

2. Complex Logistics: Managing inventory flows between the main US warehouse, mobile warehouses (technician vans), and client locations.

3. Data Segregation: The system required complex permission rules where A-to-Be had global visibility, but each client could only access their own specific data and assets.

The success

ThinkOpen implemented a comprehensive Odoo solution integrating Inventory, Field Service, and Maintenance.

Total Visibility: We replaced spreadsheets with a centralized system that tracks the exact location and condition of every asset in real-time.

Mobile Efficiency: Field technicians now use the Odoo Mobile App to report tasks and consume stock directly from their vans, automating replenishment from the main warehouse.

Client Portals: We configured specific access rights so A-to-Be clients can monitor their own infrastructure transparency without compromising data security.

The Result: As stated by their Operations Manager, João Seita, "We achieved 99% of our needs. The biggest benefit is efficiency: we know exactly what we have, where it is, and its condition.
